We are a veterinary diagnostic imaging service dedicated to bringing specialty-level ultrasound and radiographic interpretation directly to your practice. With advanced training in radiology and years of experience in specialty, emergency, and general practice, we understand the challenges of case management from both the clinical and client perspective.
Our mission is to provide timely accurate diagnostics that support veterinarians, strengthens client trust, and improves patient care.
Dr. Fern Nelson, BVetMed, DACVR
Lead Radiologist
Dr. Nelson graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2016 and began her career in general practice, where she worked for two years before pursuing advanced training. She completed a rotating internship in Southern California, followed by time in emergency medicine. Building on this experience, she undertook a residency in diagnostic imaging at the University of Missouri, completing her training and board certification in 2024.
Having seen firsthand how access to advanced diagnostics can change patient outcomes, Dr. Nelson chose to help build a service that makes imaging expertise more accessible to everyday veterinary practice. She brings a passion for collaboration directly to clinics, supporting veterinarians with timely answers and elevating the standard of care for patients and their families.
Dr. Nekesa Morey, BVM&S, DACVIM (cardiology)
Lead Cardiologist
Nekesa grew up in Nairobi, Kenya before obtaining her veterinary degree in 2018 from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, in Edinburgh, Scotland. She moved to the United States where she completed a rotating internship in Denver and a cardiology specialty internship in Seattle. Following this, she moved to Missouri where she completed her cardiology residency in July 2023. Whilst completing her residency, Nekesa obtained a Master’s in Veterinary Science received an award for clinical excellence in 2022. Before joining VetsFast Pet Imaging, Nekesa was the co-head of the cardiology department at the Royal Veterinary College.
Nekesa is passionate about all aspects of veterinary cardiology—from managing chronic conditions like heart failure to performing interventional procedures. She finds particular fulfillment in working closely with clients and their primary care veterinarians to improve quality of life and ensure continuity of care for pets with heart disease.
Dr. Zach Marcus, BVetMed
Sonographer
Dr. Marcus graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2015 and began his career in emergency and general practice, where he worked for six years before purchasing and running a small animal clinic. His growing passion for diagnostic imaging led him to complete a specialized internship in diagnostic imaging at the University of Missouri, followed by residency training at the University of Tennessee.
Recognizing the significant need for advanced ultrasound services in general practice and beyond, Dr. Marcus transitioned from academia to focus on mobile ultrasound. Today, he brings specialty-level imaging directly to veterinary clinics, helping doctors provide timely answers and improving care for patients and the people who love them.
